Narrative:

After engine start, cleared to taxi to runway 33 for takeoff on btv. Short taxi to runway. As we were running the before takeoff checklist I glanced down at taxi chart to check entryway for runway for full length takeoff since we were just under maximum runway takeoff weight. As I turned onto taxiway K, I saw the note down below that said, 'restr to aircraft under 68200 pounds.' we kept rolling and were cleared for takeoff. If the airport chart was tailored to our aircraft there could have been XXX's across the taxiway, it would have been more clear that it was not a usable taxiway, since none of our aircraft are under 68200 pounds. We had briefed the note during the takeoff briefing, but overlooked it while taxiing and running checklist. If unusable txwys were XXX'ed out, it would be more obvious at a quick glance which txwys are unusable.

Title: A B727 CAPT PERFORMS AN ILLEGAL TAXI AT BTV ARPT WHEN SHE USES TXWY K WHICH WAS RESTR FOR ACFT OVER 68200 LBS. CREW HAD BRIEFED THIS AT THE RAMP BUT FORGOT DURING TAXI OUT WHEN PERFORMING THEIR CHKLISTS.

Narrative: AFTER ENG START, CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 33 FOR TKOF ON BTV. SHORT TAXI TO RWY. AS WE WERE RUNNING THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST I GLANCED DOWN AT TAXI CHART TO CHK ENTRYWAY FOR RWY FOR FULL LENGTH TKOF SINCE WE WERE JUST UNDER MAX RWY TKOF WT. AS I TURNED ONTO TXWY K, I SAW THE NOTE DOWN BELOW THAT SAID, 'RESTR TO ACFT UNDER 68200 LBS.' WE KEPT ROLLING AND WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. IF THE ARPT CHART WAS TAILORED TO OUR ACFT THERE COULD HAVE BEEN XXX'S ACROSS THE TXWY, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CLR THAT IT WAS NOT A USABLE TXWY, SINCE NONE OF OUR ACFT ARE UNDER 68200 LBS. WE HAD BRIEFED THE NOTE DURING THE TKOF BRIEFING, BUT OVERLOOKED IT WHILE TAXIING AND RUNNING CHKLIST. IF UNUSABLE TXWYS WERE XXX'ED OUT, IT WOULD BE MORE OBVIOUS AT A QUICK GLANCE WHICH TXWYS ARE UNUSABLE.
