Narrative:

During approach with a new first officer as PF, the aircraft drifted to approximately 2 dots high on GS with airspeed of 220 KTS. I was coaching the first officer to hold GS and reduce airspeed as we were handed off to tower. I contacted tower and was queried by the first officer about the same time. The first officer was able to achieve profile at the last min and the landing was normal. As we cleared the runway tower instructed us to contact ground control. At that time I realized that I had not received a landing clearance. ATC never said anything about landing without clearance. I simply cannot recall whether or not we had one. Distraction of a new first officer who was behind the airplane was a contributing factor but I should have made sure.
