Narrative:

Our aircraft was marshalled into gate where the left wingtip came into contact with a second aircraft in the adjacent parking area. We had both a wing walker and a lead marshaller who said the wing was clear. At no time did we get a signal to stop the taxi. The wingtip was damaged on the top 6 inches of the winglet. The cause was the failure of the wing walker to verify the aircraft's position. Our aircraft was on the gate centerline, however, the other aircraft involved was parked to the right of his centerline with no lights on.
