Narrative:

Anc WX was reported as wind variable at 5 KTS. Visibility 9 SM and fog in vicinity few at 500 ft, few at 900 ft. At 10 mi from the airport, ATC asked if we had the airport in sight. We confirmed that the field was in sight and ATC cleared us for a visual approach to runway 6L at anc. During the landing rollout we entered an area of fog and restr visibility. A normal landing and rollout was made. Rollout visibility was restr to approximately 1 mi to 1/2 mi variable. Normal exit of runway and taxied to gate in VFR conditions.

Title: CAPT OF AN MLG ENCOUNTERED UNEXPECTED FOG ON THE RWY DURING ROLLOUT WHICH REDUCED THE VISIBILITY TO ONE HALF MI. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NONE AT THE RWY EXIT AREA AND THE TAXI RTE TO THE TERMINAL.

Narrative: ANC WX WAS RPTED AS WIND VARIABLE AT 5 KTS. VISIBILITY 9 SM AND FOG IN VICINITY FEW AT 500 FT, FEW AT 900 FT. AT 10 MI FROM THE ARPT, ATC ASKED IF WE HAD THE ARPT IN SIGHT. WE CONFIRMED THAT THE FIELD WAS IN SIGHT AND ATC CLRED US FOR A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 6L AT ANC. DURING THE LNDG ROLLOUT WE ENTERED AN AREA OF FOG AND RESTR VISIBILITY. A NORMAL LNDG AND ROLLOUT WAS MADE. ROLLOUT VISIBILITY WAS RESTR TO APPROX 1 MI TO 1/2 MI VARIABLE. NORMAL EXIT OF RWY AND TAXIED TO GATE IN VFR CONDITIONS.
