Narrative:
Air carrier X flight descending into ags on a visual approach. Air carrier X was 4 mi northwest of dnl when a DA01 departed dnl VFR to the northwest requesting his IFR clearance. After numerous traffic calls prior to the DA01 contacting ags approach, the air carrier X flight was issued a TA. Targets merged with 300 ft lateral separation.

Title: AN ACR ATR72 DSNDING ON A VISUAL APCH TO AGS HAD AN NMAC WITH A DA10 VFR CLBING OUT OF DNL AND REQUESTING AN IFR CLRNC. TRACON CTLR GAVE TA'S TO THE ATR72 SEVERAL TIMES AND GAVE HIM A TFC ALERT WHEN THE ACFT GOT EXTREMELY CLOSE.
