Narrative:

Entered r-hand traffic pattern for runway 16 (standard pattern for this airport). Pattern was entered from the east by flying over the south end of runway descending from 1000 ft to 700 ft. Another aircraft was in a much wider pattern and I did not see him. I conducted a low approach, a go around. The other aircraft (which I never did make visual contact with) rptedly was on a 1/2 mi final approach when I turned base to final. He continued his approach and landed. I was unaware of the other aircraft in the pattern until the pilot contacted me afterwards. Contributing factors were poor visibility from the biplane I was flying, time of day (just before sunset), and lack of radio in my aircraft. The other pilot claimed that his landing light was on and that he made appropriate radio calls. Neither myself nor my passenger (a rated pilot) was aware of the other aircraft on final approach. Although there was adequate spacing between our aircraft, the other pilot was understandably upset that I cut in front of him. Increased vigilance in looking for other aircraft will help to prevent a recurrence. In addition, my aircraft will be upgraded with an improved communication radio for better communication.

Title: A NORDO BIPLANE PLT RPTS THAT HE INADVERTENTLY CUT IN FRONT OF ANOTHER ACFT ON FINAL APCH TO THE SAME RWY. THE RPTR DID NOT SEE THE OTHER ACFT WHICH WAS ABLE TO LAND SAFELY AS THE RPTR MADE A LOW APCH AND GAR.

Narrative: ENTERED R-HAND TFC PATTERN FOR RWY 16 (STANDARD PATTERN FOR THIS ARPT). PATTERN WAS ENTERED FROM THE E BY FLYING OVER THE S END OF RWY DSNDING FROM 1000 FT TO 700 FT. ANOTHER ACFT WAS IN A MUCH WIDER PATTERN AND I DID NOT SEE HIM. I CONDUCTED A LOW APCH, A GAR. THE OTHER ACFT (WHICH I NEVER DID MAKE VISUAL CONTACT WITH) RPTEDLY WAS ON A 1/2 MI FINAL APCH WHEN I TURNED BASE TO FINAL. HE CONTINUED HIS APCH AND LANDED. I WAS UNAWARE OF THE OTHER ACFT IN THE PATTERN UNTIL THE PLT CONTACTED ME AFTERWARDS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE POOR VISIBILITY FROM THE BIPLANE I WAS FLYING, TIME OF DAY (JUST BEFORE SUNSET), AND LACK OF RADIO IN MY ACFT. THE OTHER PLT CLAIMED THAT HIS LNDG LIGHT WAS ON AND THAT HE MADE APPROPRIATE RADIO CALLS. NEITHER MYSELF NOR MY PAX (A RATED PLT) WAS AWARE OF THE OTHER ACFT ON FINAL APCH. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS ADEQUATE SPACING BTWN OUR ACFT, THE OTHER PLT WAS UNDERSTANDABLY UPSET THAT I CUT IN FRONT OF HIM. INCREASED VIGILANCE IN LOOKING FOR OTHER ACFT WILL HELP TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE. IN ADDITION, MY ACFT WILL BE UPGRADED WITH AN IMPROVED COM RADIO FOR BETTER COM.
