Narrative:

During an annual inspection of the aircraft, a compression test was performed. #3 cylinder had 8/80 at best. Acceptable per the manufacturer is 52+/80. The carburetor had an airworthiness directive that was not done. A list of unairworthy items was given to the owner. The owner then flew the aircraft away without a ferry permit or approval of any kind. The unairworthy items were listed in the logbook.

Title: A C172 AFTER COMPLETION OF AN ANNUAL INSPECTION WAS FLOWN WITH SEVERAL UNAIRWORTHY ITEMS LISTED IN THE LOGBOOK.

Narrative: DURING AN ANNUAL INSPECTION OF THE ACFT, A COMPRESSION TEST WAS PERFORMED. #3 CYLINDER HAD 8/80 AT BEST. ACCEPTABLE PER THE MANUFACTURER IS 52+/80. THE CARB HAD AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE THAT WAS NOT DONE. A LIST OF UNAIRWORTHY ITEMS WAS GIVEN TO THE OWNER. THE OWNER THEN FLEW THE ACFT AWAY WITHOUT A FERRY PERMIT OR APPROVAL OF ANY KIND. THE UNAIRWORTHY ITEMS WERE LISTED IN THE LOGBOOK.
