Narrative:

An airport diagram of mem would help with this. We were departing the ramp on the north side of runway 27. Ground control cleared us to taxi to runway 36R via taxiway B, taxiway south, taxiway D, and beyond. We crossed runway 27 and started down taxiway south when we heard the controller tell a small aircraft to hold short of taxiway D on taxiway south. He was facing us going the opposite direction. We made the turn at taxiway D. About 1/2 way through the turn, the controller cleared the small aircraft to continue taxiing. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the small aircraft accelerate rapidly directly behind us. I called in the blind 'watch out for the jet blast from the airbus.' an airline flight that had just landed on runway 36R was behind the small aircraft. One of the pilots radioed, 'that was exciting.' we never heard any transmission from the small aircraft, and I have no idea what happened to it. I had brought the power up to make the turn, but the engines were in idle when he passed behind us. Even though it was dark, I feel the ground controller could have waited a little longer to clear small aircraft to begin moving again, but I can't imagine any pilot passing very close behind an airbus.

Title: AN ACR A310 FREIGHTER FLC RPTS A JET BLAST INCIDENT IN WHICH A LIGHT ACFT CROSSED BEHIND THE A310 AFTER THE FLC HAD TURNED SHARPLY ONTO A CROSS TXWY. THE EFFECT ON THE LIGHT ACFT IS NOT KNOWN BY THE RPTR, BUT HE DID HEAR ANOTHER ACR'S COMMENT THAT IMPLIED THAT AT LEAST SOME SORT OF DISPLACEMENT OCCURRED.

Narrative: AN ARPT DIAGRAM OF MEM WOULD HELP WITH THIS. WE WERE DEPARTING THE RAMP ON THE N SIDE OF RWY 27. GND CTL CLRED US TO TAXI TO RWY 36R VIA TXWY B, TXWY S, TXWY D, AND BEYOND. WE CROSSED RWY 27 AND STARTED DOWN TXWY S WHEN WE HEARD THE CTLR TELL A SMALL ACFT TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY D ON TXWY S. HE WAS FACING US GOING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. WE MADE THE TURN AT TXWY D. ABOUT 1/2 WAY THROUGH THE TURN, THE CTLR CLRED THE SMALL ACFT TO CONTINUE TAXIING. OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE I SAW THE SMALL ACFT ACCELERATE RAPIDLY DIRECTLY BEHIND US. I CALLED IN THE BLIND 'WATCH OUT FOR THE JET BLAST FROM THE AIRBUS.' AN AIRLINE FLT THAT HAD JUST LANDED ON RWY 36R WAS BEHIND THE SMALL ACFT. ONE OF THE PLTS RADIOED, 'THAT WAS EXCITING.' WE NEVER HEARD ANY XMISSION FROM THE SMALL ACFT, AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED TO IT. I HAD BROUGHT THE PWR UP TO MAKE THE TURN, BUT THE ENGS WERE IN IDLE WHEN HE PASSED BEHIND US. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DARK, I FEEL THE GND CTLR COULD HAVE WAITED A LITTLE LONGER TO CLR SMALL ACFT TO BEGIN MOVING AGAIN, BUT I CAN'T IMAGINE ANY PLT PASSING VERY CLOSE BEHIND AN AIRBUS.
