Narrative:

After landing and clear of runway 27R in atl ground control cleared flight to ramp via txwys left and D. When approaching intersection of txwys left and D a B767-300 appeared to be blocking that intersection, so we called ramp for clearance to cut across ramp via 6S and 6E back to taxiway D. On taxiway D we taxied to 6N and re-entered ramp via 6N to gate. At gate ground control called and advised us we had entered taxiway D without clearance and had caused an aircraft to hold short. We observed no conflicts and felt we had expedited a busy and crowded situation.

Title: MD88 ACFT WITH CLRNC TO TAXI VIA SPECIFIC RTE, BUT RPTR CAPT THOUGHT THE TXWY WAS BLOCKED BY ANOTHER ACFT SO THE FLC CHOSE AN ALTERNATE RTE TO THE GATE. AFTER PARKING THEY RECEIVED A CALL FROM GND CTLR WHO TOLD THEM THEY HAD ENTERED A TXWY WITHOUT CLRNC RESULTING IN ANOTHER ACFT HAVING TO HOLD.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG AND CLR OF RWY 27R IN ATL GND CTL CLRED FLT TO RAMP VIA TXWYS L AND D. WHEN APCHING INTXN OF TXWYS L AND D A B767-300 APPEARED TO BE BLOCKING THAT INTXN, SO WE CALLED RAMP FOR CLRNC TO CUT ACROSS RAMP VIA 6S AND 6E BACK TO TXWY D. ON TXWY D WE TAXIED TO 6N AND RE-ENTERED RAMP VIA 6N TO GATE. AT GATE GND CTL CALLED AND ADVISED US WE HAD ENTERED TXWY D WITHOUT CLRNC AND HAD CAUSED AN ACFT TO HOLD SHORT. WE OBSERVED NO CONFLICTS AND FELT WE HAD EXPEDITED A BUSY AND CROWDED SIT.
