Narrative:

While jacking up the l-hand main landing gear for #1 brake replacement, the aircraft suddenly moved forward causing the jack to slip off of the mounting point. The jack then broke off the service valve at the bottom of the strut causing the strut to collapse. Only damage was servicing valve replacement. Eddy current inspection performed and no cracks found. Replaced seals for l-hand strut tube. Aircraft was put back to service. The WX was rainy all day and that night. The lighting was bad. I lined the jack up to the mounting point and started jacking the l-hand gear up. I failed to take action to stop the removal of seat pallets off of the aircraft while jacking up the aircraft. The forklift with the slave could have bumped the aircraft at the cargo door area causing the aircraft to shift. However, the driver said he did not contact the aircraft. Our jacks are also not in the best of svcability which also could have been a contributing factor.
