Narrative:

Landed at iad on runway 1R, turned off on taxiway K1, then right on taxiway K. Switched to ground control and ground control stated, 'stop immediately, you are on a closed taxiway.' airfield manager representative drove out and directed aircraft to active taxiway. No damage done to anything. Information: 1) on approach to iad, unable to get ATIS (being changed). Advised tower on final we did not have ATIS. Tower advised, 'cleared to land runway 1R, altimeter 30.34.' 2) nothing in iad NOTAMS about taxiway closure. 3) upon talking with tower supervisor, was advised they had just removed the cones that had been marking the turnoff taxiway K1 and taxiway K closed and were preparing to sweep the area prior to opening it to traffic.
