Narrative:

Our flight from bos to alb seemed to be perfectly normal until we reached alb and were deplaning. A ramp agent asked me if I knew there was hazmat on board? I said no and asked what it was. He showed me the box clearly labeled with hazmat diamonds saying oxidizer and stickers saying not for carriage on passenger aircraft. The box also had a 'co-mat' sticker on it bound for albany. I dug our cargo manifest out of the garbage and there was 235 pounds of 'co-mat' on it. (This was quite normal for this flight because alb is a maintenance base for our air carrier.) we did not receive a notice or any other documentation to lead us to believe there was any hazmat on board. I proceeded to call our headquarters to alert them to the problem. The station manager was also advised of the situation. We proceeded to open the box and one personal breathing equipment was in it. Obviously, someone in bos was not properly trained in the recognition and transport of hazmats. If they had been they would have known that a notice is required for shipment of our company hazmat and that without a notice, hazmat cannot travel. This box did not have a notice because it is not allowed on passenger aircraft.

Title: COMMUTER FLC IS NOTIFIED AFTER LNDG THAT THERE IS HAZMAT ON BOARD THE ACFT. IT WAS PUT ABOARD WITH OTHER COMPANY MATERIALS AND CLRLY MARKED. THERE WAS NO NOTICE OF HAZMAT GIVEN TO THE FLC.

Narrative: OUR FLT FROM BOS TO ALB SEEMED TO BE PERFECTLY NORMAL UNTIL WE REACHED ALB AND WERE DEPLANING. A RAMP AGENT ASKED ME IF I KNEW THERE WAS HAZMAT ON BOARD? I SAID NO AND ASKED WHAT IT WAS. HE SHOWED ME THE BOX CLRLY LABELED WITH HAZMAT DIAMONDS SAYING OXIDIZER AND STICKERS SAYING NOT FOR CARRIAGE ON PAX ACFT. THE BOX ALSO HAD A 'CO-MAT' STICKER ON IT BOUND FOR ALBANY. I DUG OUR CARGO MANIFEST OUT OF THE GARBAGE AND THERE WAS 235 LBS OF 'CO-MAT' ON IT. (THIS WAS QUITE NORMAL FOR THIS FLT BECAUSE ALB IS A MAINT BASE FOR OUR ACR.) WE DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTICE OR ANY OTHER DOCUMENTATION TO LEAD US TO BELIEVE THERE WAS ANY HAZMAT ON BOARD. I PROCEEDED TO CALL OUR HEADQUARTERS TO ALERT THEM TO THE PROB. THE STATION MGR WAS ALSO ADVISED OF THE SIT. WE PROCEEDED TO OPEN THE BOX AND ONE PERSONAL BREATHING EQUIP WAS IN IT. THIS BOX DID NOT HAVE A NOTICE BECAUSE IT IS NOT ALLOWED ON PAX ACFT.
