Narrative:

I was PF. On takeoff roll at approximately 100 KTS we encountered high thrust from an MD11 taxiing to hangar between the runways. The jet blast was strong enough to briefly question the control of our aircraft. We saw the MD11 taxi across the runway in front of us and it was stopped prior to our takeoff roll. Tower or ourselves should have confirmed MD11 at idle power before our takeoff. Supplemental information from acn 384594: pilots of departing aircraft and of taxi aircraft must also be aware of the potential of dangerous jet blast perpendicular to aircraft roll. ATC did not notify us of potential jet blast and I assumed the aircraft would be at idle power. This MD11 was probably being taxied by maintenance personnel.

Title: AN ACR MD80 FLC RPT THAT THEY WERE HIT BY THE ENG BLAST FROM AN MD11 WHILE THEY WERE ON TKOF ROLL AND THE CTL OF THEIR ACFT WAS AFFECTED.

Narrative: I WAS PF. ON TKOF ROLL AT APPROX 100 KTS WE ENCOUNTERED HIGH THRUST FROM AN MD11 TAXIING TO HANGAR BTWN THE RWYS. THE JET BLAST WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO BRIEFLY QUESTION THE CTL OF OUR ACFT. WE SAW THE MD11 TAXI ACROSS THE RWY IN FRONT OF US AND IT WAS STOPPED PRIOR TO OUR TKOF ROLL. TWR OR OURSELVES SHOULD HAVE CONFIRMED MD11 AT IDLE PWR BEFORE OUR TKOF. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 384594: PLTS OF DEPARTING ACFT AND OF TAXI ACFT MUST ALSO BE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL OF DANGEROUS JET BLAST PERPENDICULAR TO ACFT ROLL. ATC DID NOT NOTIFY US OF POTENTIAL JET BLAST AND I ASSUMED THE ACFT WOULD BE AT IDLE PWR. THIS MD11 WAS PROBABLY BEING TAXIED BY MAINT PERSONNEL.
