Narrative:

3 issues have arisen with respect to a flight check given per far 135.293 on oct/thu/97. A pilot presented himself for examination under the cited regulation. The examining poi asked to receive the aircraft maintenance logbooks for the subject aircraft for routine inspection. After approximately 3 hours of opportunity to examine the aircraft logbooks, a pmi asked questions about logbook entries. The first issue was 'falsification' or 'fraudulent' entry of aircraft times. The second issue was 'unairworthy' repair of the right propeller spinner. Third, airworthiness directive compliance notations.

Title: FAA INSPECTOR FOUND DURING AN INSPECTION OF A PIPER PA23- 235 ACFT AND LOGBOOK RECORDS THAT AN UNAUTH REPAIR HAD BEEN MADE TO ONE OF THE PROP SPINNERS AND FRAUDULENT RECORDS OF 100 HR REQUIRED INSPECTIONS. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE IRRELEVANT LOG ENTRIES OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE COMPLIANCE NOTATIONS DUE TO PREVIOUS COMPLIANCE.
