Narrative:

Received an unsafe nose gear indication when gear handle was placed down. Executed a go around at approximately 1500 ft. Went through the procedure for this indication and declared an emergency. First officer confirmed gear was down through the viewing port. Normal approach and landing were made. Aircraft was stopped on runway due to main gear doors open. After maintenance inspected the aircraft, we taxied the aircraft to the gate. I believe the correct actions were taken and good CRM skills were utilized.
