Narrative:

The left hydraulic system developed a leak. Pressure went to zero and quantity decreased. We declared an emergency and entered a holding pattern to take our time going through the hydraulic failure section of the aircraft manual. Specific attention was given to making sure someone was always flying the aircraft. An uneventful approach and landing was made in pit. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the left system lost all pressure and quantity and this was a repeat report on hydraulic fluid loss for this airplane. The reporter said maintenance did not report the component that failed causing the fluid loss.
