Narrative:

While taxiing out for takeoff in el paso, tx, cargo ramp, first officer and myself and acm were looking out the right window trying to avoid aircraft and ground equipment. We went past a taxi/clearway sign by 30 ft before our acm caught the sign on our left and made note of it. Check el paso 10-9 chart approach end runway 4, did not go on clearway but nosewheel past sign about 30 ft. With all the equipment on our right our attention was averted. Even at 10 KTS we still went past sign. We stopped immediately. Nothing was said by the controller. We were cleared for takeoff a few mins later.
