Narrative:

Cleared frogo 6 departure out of smf. SID says at 600 ft turn left 120 degrees to intercept 090 degree radial. During departure, at 600 ft, the aircraft was turned to 090 degree heading for approximately 1-2 mins. After discovery, aircraft turned back to 120 degrees without incident. After rollout, departure called for verification of 120 degrees. Problem?! Complacency. I have flown in and out of smf routinely for 3 yrs. But instead of reviewing the SID (which was out and on display), I mentally made a mistake by reversing heading and radial.

Title: CAPT OF AN MLG OVERTURNED DURING THE FIRST TURN DURING CLB AFTER TKOF DUE TO SWITCHING IN HIS MIND THE HDG AND RADIAL TO WHICH THE HDG WOULD TAKE HIM ON AN INTERCEPT. HE DISCOVERED HIS MISTAKE SHORTLY AND HAD TURNED BACK TO APPROPRIATE HDG WHEN ATC WANTED VERIFICATION OF THE CORRECT HDG.

Narrative: CLRED FROGO 6 DEP OUT OF SMF. SID SAYS AT 600 FT TURN L 120 DEGS TO INTERCEPT 090 DEG RADIAL. DURING DEP, AT 600 FT, THE ACFT WAS TURNED TO 090 DEG HDG FOR APPROX 1-2 MINS. AFTER DISCOVERY, ACFT TURNED BACK TO 120 DEGS WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER ROLLOUT, DEP CALLED FOR VERIFICATION OF 120 DEGS. PROBLEM?! COMPLACENCY. I HAVE FLOWN IN AND OUT OF SMF ROUTINELY FOR 3 YRS. BUT INSTEAD OF REVIEWING THE SID (WHICH WAS OUT AND ON DISPLAY), I MENTALLY MADE A MISTAKE BY REVERSING HDG AND RADIAL.
