Narrative:

Landed at sea without a landing clearance. After rollout and clearing the runway I looked down at the radio and realized we were still on approach control frequency. I immediately switched to tower frequency and had the first officer give tower our report of windshear (+/- 5-10 KTS) on final approach. The approach was busy with turbulence, windshear, using wipers, engine and wing anti-ice, etc, and the first officer forgot to call tower at the OM. I was busy flying the approach and also forgot to call to tower. Separation was not a problem between our aircraft and other landing aircraft. This reinforced my belief that when things get busy you must work even harder to increase your situational awareness. Approach control was busy with traffic and never told us to 'contact tower.' I'm going to ask myself from now on though, that when I check the gear down on the landing check that we are also cleared to land.

Title: FLC OF A B737-400 FAILED TO CONTACT TWR FOR LNDG CLRNC. THEY DISCOVERED THEIR MISTAKE WHEN TURNING OFF THE RWY AND NOTICING THAT THE XMITTER WAS STILL SET TO APCH FREQ.

Narrative: LANDED AT SEA WITHOUT A LNDG CLRNC. AFTER ROLLOUT AND CLRING THE RWY I LOOKED DOWN AT THE RADIO AND REALIZED WE WERE STILL ON APCH CTL FREQ. I IMMEDIATELY SWITCHED TO TWR FREQ AND HAD THE FO GIVE TWR OUR RPT OF WINDSHEAR (+/- 5-10 KTS) ON FINAL APCH. THE APCH WAS BUSY WITH TURB, WINDSHEAR, USING WIPERS, ENG AND WING ANTI-ICE, ETC, AND THE FO FORGOT TO CALL TWR AT THE OM. I WAS BUSY FLYING THE APCH AND ALSO FORGOT TO CALL TO TWR. SEPARATION WAS NOT A PROB BTWN OUR ACFT AND OTHER LNDG ACFT. THIS REINFORCED MY BELIEF THAT WHEN THINGS GET BUSY YOU MUST WORK EVEN HARDER TO INCREASE YOUR SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. APCH CTL WAS BUSY WITH TFC AND NEVER TOLD US TO 'CONTACT TWR.' I'M GOING TO ASK MYSELF FROM NOW ON THOUGH, THAT WHEN I CHK THE GEAR DOWN ON THE LNDG CHK THAT WE ARE ALSO CLRED TO LAND.
