I received a citation for driving while intoxicated on apr/xx/96. I was unaware that the FAA required that I give notice to them of this dui. However this was reported to the FAA when I had flight medical renewed in oct of 1996. Now the FAA is going to suspend my commercial pilot certificate. Aerial spraying is the livelihood of myself and family. Although season is about over for most sprayers, I do a lot of fall spraying oct-dec. This had nothing to do with an aircraft and I had not started spraying on jan/xx/96. If there is any way that you can help with this problem I could surely use it. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he had been given a civil penalty as the outcome of his violation. He said that he was not aware of the far that required a written report within 60 days of the outcome of the dui conviction for driving under the influence.

Title: PLT OF AN AGRICULTURAL WEATHERLY, MODEL 201 ACFT FAILED TO SUBMIT A WRITTEN RPT OF A 'DUI' CONVICTION AS REQUIRED BY THE FARS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THE OUTCOME OF THE INCIDENT. RPTR RECEIVED A CIVIL PENALTY.
Narrative: I RECEIVED A CITATION FOR DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED ON APR/XX/96. I WAS UNAWARE THAT THE FAA REQUIRED THAT I GIVE NOTICE TO THEM OF THIS DUI. HOWEVER THIS WAS RPTED TO THE FAA WHEN I HAD FLT MEDICAL RENEWED IN OCT OF 1996. NOW THE FAA IS GOING TO SUSPEND MY COMMERCIAL PLT CERTIFICATE. AERIAL SPRAYING IS THE LIVELIHOOD OF MYSELF AND FAMILY. ALTHOUGH SEASON IS ABOUT OVER FOR MOST SPRAYERS, I DO A LOT OF FALL SPRAYING OCT-DEC. THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH AN ACFT AND I HAD NOT STARTED SPRAYING ON JAN/XX/96. IF THERE IS ANY WAY THAT YOU CAN HELP WITH THIS PROB I COULD SURELY USE IT.
