Narrative:

Private pilot building cross country commercial hours. English is not pilot's first language. Pilot was departing runway 29 at sjc and drifted to the right of course on climb out. Tower stated they called 3 times and told pilot to turn left. Pilot states he turned left, but an airliner needed to take evasive action by that time. Pilot has been debriefed by a flight instructor regarding situation. Pilot will be making several dual training flts to continue his commercial training safely.

TWR STATED THEY CALLED 3 TIMES AND TOLD PLT TO TURN L. PLT STATES HE TURNED L, BUT AN AIRLINER NEEDED TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION BY THAT TIME. PLT HAS BEEN DEBRIEFED BY A FLT INSTRUCTOR REGARDING SIT. PLT WILL BE MAKING SEVERAL DUAL TRAINING FLTS TO CONTINUE HIS COMMERCIAL TRAINING SAFELY.
