Narrative:

On aug/xx/97 air carrier aircraft YYY blew a tire upon landing at ZZZ. It went into gate ab as flight xyz and it needed a tire change. I assisted in removing the blown tire, installing the new wheel on the axle, and rotating the tire while it was being torqued. I felt we did follow the maintenance manual regulations but it is obvious that the 2 alignment tangs were not engaged because they might have possibly stripped during the torquing process.
