Narrative:

I was flying on the center jump seat as relief pilot on a B767ER. After 10000 ft, autoplt was selected (captain flying). I was doing flight plan how-goes-it numbers during climb after 10000 ft AGL. We were to stop climb at FL160. Captain disconnected autoplt to retrim aircraft. At FL160 no attempt was made to level. PNF and I both called 'leveloff.' captain leveled aircraft then descended back to FL160. Maximum altitude noted was 16300 ft. Controller said no conflict occurred. Remainder of flight and landing at bombay uneventful.
