Narrative:
Flight operated normally from atl to dfw until 12000 ft descending, when #3 engine began severe vibration accompanied by high tgt. I declared an emergency and accomplished engine failure/damage checklist in accordance with pilot's operating manual and follow-up checklist. An uneventful approach and landing on runway 35C at dfw.

Narrative: FLT OPERATED NORMALLY FROM ATL TO DFW UNTIL 12000 FT DSNDING, WHEN #3 ENG BEGAN SEVERE VIBRATION ACCOMPANIED BY HIGH TGT. I DECLARED AN EMER AND ACCOMPLISHED ENG FAILURE/DAMAGE CHKLIST IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLT'S OPERATING MANUAL AND FOLLOW-UP CHKLIST. AN UNEVENTFUL APCH AND LNDG ON RWY 35C AT DFW.
