Narrative:

While taxiing into the sun at sunset, on a taxiway to a hangar, left wing hit a new erected fence post that was on the edge of the taxiway. The distance between another newly erected fence post was 38 ft. The aircraft wings are 36.5 ft. There was not a centerline on the taxiway or any markings on the newly erected fence post. Pilot did not see the fence post before it was hit by the left wing. 3 days after the incident, the posts were removed. Contributing to this incident was the failure of the agency responsible for approving the construction of this fence to require the contractor to clearly mark or barricade these obstructions to a taxiway or to notify operators that construction was to occur.
