Narrative:

On the way to a motor vehicle accident on route aa in XXX county, us, I did not contact xyz approach control on the way out. I was about 100 yards south of route aa. According to the sectional (ZZZ) the class C airspace extends to but does not include route aa. The magenta lines that constitute the class C airspace are about 500 yards wide. I do not believe I was in the class C airspace, but with a 1:500000 map, it is hard to be super accurate. I have stated before that I believe all class C airspaces should have a separate map as class B airspace does.

Title: EMS HELI PLT COMPLAINT ON THE SCALE USED TO DEFINE CLASS C AIRSPACES. PLT HAD FLOWN IN THE MAGENTA LINE WITHOUT CLRNC AND WAS NOT CERTAIN THAT HE HAD STAYED OUTSIDE OF THAT CLASS C AIRSPACE AS DEFINED BY THE BROAD LINE. SAYS THAT THE LINE IS, IN REALITY, 500 YARDS WIDE.
