Narrative:

Accident while attempting to land in thunderstorm over airport. At 1 mi out I was setting up to land on runway 23 (left downwind) my heading was 310 degrees. Heard another aircraft on unicom using this runway at 20 mi out. Call unicom at 10 mi and at 7 mi got no response. At 1 mi in thunderstorm I could see windsock favoring runway 32 (straight-in). Wind out of north at approximately 45 KTS. Being high and fast for this approach left me very little time to do a proper cockpit checklist. Due to my deviation in procedure changing from runway 23 downwind to last second straight-in to runway 32 I failed to lower my landing gear. Damage was limited to propeller, flaps and oil cooler door.
