Narrative:

Coming into the target area of the race, I missed the first of 2 targets. I heated to maintain altitude for the second target pole. I then vented to make the target, my basket made contact with the ground. The burners gimbaled, and flame came into contact with the skirt of the envelope. I maintained control, and ascended according to the waiver guidelines, and flew on to an appropriate landing spot. My aircraft was inspected by a certified balloon repair person, and was still airworthy. I opted not to fly the next morning until repairs could be made that afternoon. Repairs were made, and I flew that evening.
