Narrative:

On aug/yy/97, approximately XA45, upon turning our air carrier DC8 cargo aircraft on to the ramp cargo parking area, it was noted that XXXR had a cessna caravan parked very close to the taxi line. Even though our marshaller was indicating to continue straight ahead, it was necessary to deviate left of the taxi line in order to safety go around the cessna. Both outboard engines were shut down. Upon arriving at the ramp, and prior to the cessna aircraft, upon arriving at our unloading position, we were informed by an XXXR representative that one of his personnel were injured by movement of the caravan due to our jet blast. He said the cessna had hit the individual, knocking him into other equipment, where he was injured. I asked if the aircraft was damaged, he said no. Was the aircraft chocked, yes he said. Well, it jumped the chocks then. No he said. How was he injured then? The tail of the caravan was swinging and knocked him into other equipment, where he was injured. I told him they were parked too close to the taxi line. He said they park there all the time. I said I have been operating in here for yrs, and no caravan has ever been parked that close to the taxi line. It is my feeling that XXXR is placing their equipment and personnel in danger by parking too close to the normal aircraft taxi line. These caravans should be parked farther away from taxiing aircraft, as there is plenty of room to do so.
