Narrative:

While waiting for takeoff on runway 17R at dfw, another aircraft advised a puddle of fluid was forming under our left main gear and smoke was also drifting from the same area. Emergency equipment was called by the tower and we held our position, closing the runway. Maintenance also appeared at the scene and it was determined the aircraft was safe to taxi. Return to gate was uneventful.
