Narrative:

I was working local assistant position. During a heavy arrival and departure rush, we were departing runway 34R full length and at intersection Q. Local cleared the MD80 for takeoff and the BE02 , air carrier Z, at full length into position to hold. The other BE02, air carrier Y, read back into position and hold and went onto the runway in front of the MD80. The MD80 aborted his takeoff was stopped by 500- 1000 ft from the BE02, air carrier Y. Similar call signs air carrier Y and air carrier Z. Also we have no set departure procedures, ie, full length all the time intersection takeoff, also read back error was made. Supplemental information from acn 374755: during our takeoff roll on runway 34R sea air carrier Y taxied across in front of us at taxiway Q causing us to abort the takeoff to avoid a collision on the runway. As far as I can recall the aircraft had never talked to tower, did not look in either direction and just slowly taxied across the active runway. Upon seeing him cross the hold short line I realized that he was not going to stop and immediately aborted my takeoff. Supplemental information from acn 374761: I had just made the 80 KT callouts when the copilot noticed an aircraft crossing in front of us (right to left) at taxiway Q. Aborted takeoff and advised tower. Questioned tower as to who cleared this aircraft to cross -- told the supervisor was working the problem. Notified company of the abort.
