Narrative:
Taxi instructions for runway 5 in clt were txwys B, east. I made a mistake and turned onto taxiway F, which is just prior to and parallel to taxiway east. It is also a new taxiway. The cause of my mistake was lack of vigilance. We had just completed the before takeoff checklist and I commented on all of the construction taking place in the ramp area. Being at my home base I wasn't as attentive as I should have been.

Narrative: TAXI INSTRUCTIONS FOR RWY 5 IN CLT WERE TXWYS B, E. I MADE A MISTAKE AND TURNED ONTO TXWY F, WHICH IS JUST PRIOR TO AND PARALLEL TO TXWY E. IT IS ALSO A NEW TXWY. THE CAUSE OF MY MISTAKE WAS LACK OF VIGILANCE. WE HAD JUST COMPLETED THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST AND I COMMENTED ON ALL OF THE CONSTRUCTION TAKING PLACE IN THE RAMP AREA.
