Narrative:

Heavy weight, maximum power, packs off takeoff with an initial turn for noise abatement and restoring packs, we perhaps didn't watch the 2.5 DME at or above 1500 ft restr as closely as we should have. We did delay selecting climb power, but with only 1.5 NM to gain 1500 ft at a heavy weight was difficult. We may have missed the restr by 1/2 mi. A steeper climb at takeoff power to 1500 ft would probably made the restr.

Title: AN ACR MD80 FLC WERE TOO LOW AT THE 2.5 DME FIX DURING THEIR CLBOUT.

Narrative: HVY WT, MAX PWR, PACKS OFF TKOF WITH AN INITIAL TURN FOR NOISE ABATEMENT AND RESTORING PACKS, WE PERHAPS DIDN'T WATCH THE 2.5 DME AT OR ABOVE 1500 FT RESTR AS CLOSELY AS WE SHOULD HAVE. WE DID DELAY SELECTING CLB PWR, BUT WITH ONLY 1.5 NM TO GAIN 1500 FT AT A HVY WT WAS DIFFICULT. WE MAY HAVE MISSED THE RESTR BY 1/2 MI. A STEEPER CLB AT TKOF PWR TO 1500 FT WOULD PROBABLY MADE THE RESTR.
