Narrative:

During climb on loop 9 departure, we crossed keggs intersection at 12300 ft MSL instead of the required 13000 ft or above. The previous restr of 10000 ft or above over lax was made at approximately 10400 ft. I feel the reasons for this incident were: 1) turning us eastbound too early, and 2) our overconfidence in the B757 performance. Although the airspeed was close to best angle of climb, we were heavy enough (210000 pounds) not to make these restrs which we have always made in the past. I regret not advising ATC that we might have a problem making the restr before the fact.

Title: AN LGT ACFT ON DEP FROM LAX IS UNABLE TO MAKE THE XING RESTR AS TRACON TURNS THE ACFT SO CLOSE TO THE VOR, THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO CLB TO ACHIEVE THE PROPER ALT.

Narrative: DURING CLB ON LOOP 9 DEP, WE CROSSED KEGGS INTXN AT 12300 FT MSL INSTEAD OF THE REQUIRED 13000 FT OR ABOVE. THE PREVIOUS RESTR OF 10000 FT OR ABOVE OVER LAX WAS MADE AT APPROX 10400 FT. I FEEL THE REASONS FOR THIS INCIDENT WERE: 1) TURNING US EBOUND TOO EARLY, AND 2) OUR OVERCONFIDENCE IN THE B757 PERFORMANCE. ALTHOUGH THE AIRSPD WAS CLOSE TO BEST ANGLE OF CLB, WE WERE HVY ENOUGH (210000 LBS) NOT TO MAKE THESE RESTRS WHICH WE HAVE ALWAYS MADE IN THE PAST. I REGRET NOT ADVISING ATC THAT WE MIGHT HAVE A PROB MAKING THE RESTR BEFORE THE FACT.
