Narrative:

On mar/xx/97, I was assigned to work air carrier aircraft XXX. The aircraft had a logbook write-up that read '#3 engine, right hydraulic pump, will not turn off with switch in the off position.' I was the lead mechanic, and I assigned an right&east mechanic to check out the affected pump. The right&east found a broken connector on the pump. He replaced the connector (cannon plug). I wrote a job card to have an operational check made. After releasing the aircraft to the taxi crew, I called the line desk to report that the pump still would not shut off with the engine running. The line lead mechanic wrote a job card to cover that discrepancy. This card was signed off in error, the lead then alerted the international crew to let them know what had happened. The supervisor told me their computer printer number and I wrote and sent a new job card indicating that '#3 right hydraulic pump will not turn off.'
