Narrative:
While on a tour of the juneau ice field, my passenger touches my right arm very casually and points to the 9 O'clock position. As I look over the cessna passed just under the airplane from left to right. I just had a glimpse of the cessna and never saw it again. I was with other company airplanes on the 'same' tour which I think the other pilot was looking for/at. In this type of flying I don't look for traffic in the 9 O'clock position. I do now! Our tour route is published. I think private operators need to avoid congested tour areas. He could've taken a different route. I should look for traffic farther to the sides and flanks. I do not think airspace restrs (ie, 50-2) would help. More pilot vigilance is needed from both parties.

Title: A DHC2 FLYING A SIGHTSEEING TOUR OVER AN ICE FIELD HAS A VERY CLOSE NMAC WITH A CESSNA. TFC WAS SEEN AND POINTED OUT BY A PAX IN THE R SEAT. RPTR ADMITTED THAT HE NEVER LOOKED FOR TFC IN HIS 9 O'CLOCK POS. RPTR INTIMATES THAT OTHER ACFT SHOULD AVOID TOUR RTES.
