Narrative:

Filed IFR flight plan for IFR flight from sav to dab via V3-37. Had just reviewed student's flight plan who had made a mistake and filed route V437. Upon departure, sav departure cleared us via V437. I then understood V37 instead. Controller had to call back after a few mins to correct us (we were then following V3-37). I then had to ask for another route -- the MEA was too high for the TB9 tampico and we would be getting beyond power-off gliding distance from shore (no equipment).

Title: ON A DUAL XCOUNTRY INST TRAINING FLT, IN A SOCATA TB9 TAMPICO, ATC INTERVENED TO CORRECT THE FLT PLAN RTE TO THE PROPER AIRWAY. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE INSTRUCTOR REALIZED THAT THE PROPER RTE WOULD BE TOO HIGH FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ACFT AND ALSO WOULD TAKE THE FLT OUTSIDE OF GLIDING DISTANCE OF SHORE FOR WHICH THEY WERE NOT EQUIPPED, REQUESTING ANOTHER ROUTING CHANGE.
