Narrative:

We were flying south from jax at FL180 to mia. We were given a crossing restr to cross stoop intersection (32 NM south of vrb on v- 295) at 12000 ft MSL. Somehow we understood the intersection to be blufi intersection (59 NM south of vrb on V-295). Thus when we actually crossed 'stoop' we were at 13500 ft MSL. I attribute the error to crew fatigue due to lack of proper rest. We were flying a continuous duty trip sequence. The report time for the trip was XA55 pm, we were scheduled into (to arrive) jax at XB30 am. Due to a maintenance problem in mia we did not arrive in jax till XC15 am. We were scheduled out of jax at XD45 am. Once you take into consideration the time to get to the hotel, go to bed, get up in the morning and get to the airport, it works to be only 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Even though this is legal it does put crews in a position of having to fly without sufficient rest.

Title: FLC OF A SF340 UNDERSHOT ALT ON DSCNT DUE TO MISINTERPRETING THE XING FIX TO BE FURTHER THAN ACTUALLY ASSIGNED.

Narrative: WE WERE FLYING S FROM JAX AT FL180 TO MIA. WE WERE GIVEN A XING RESTR TO CROSS STOOP INTXN (32 NM S OF VRB ON V- 295) AT 12000 FT MSL. SOMEHOW WE UNDERSTOOD THE INTXN TO BE BLUFI INTXN (59 NM S OF VRB ON V-295). THUS WHEN WE ACTUALLY CROSSED 'STOOP' WE WERE AT 13500 FT MSL. I ATTRIBUTE THE ERROR TO CREW FATIGUE DUE TO LACK OF PROPER REST. WE WERE FLYING A CONTINUOUS DUTY TRIP SEQUENCE. THE RPT TIME FOR THE TRIP WAS XA55 PM, WE WERE SCHEDULED INTO (TO ARRIVE) JAX AT XB30 AM. DUE TO A MAINT PROB IN MIA WE DID NOT ARRIVE IN JAX TILL XC15 AM. WE WERE SCHEDULED OUT OF JAX AT XD45 AM. ONCE YOU TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE TIME TO GET TO THE HOTEL, GO TO BED, GET UP IN THE MORNING AND GET TO THE ARPT, IT WORKS TO BE ONLY 4 1/2 HRS OF SLEEP. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS LEGAL IT DOES PUT CREWS IN A POS OF HAVING TO FLY WITHOUT SUFFICIENT REST.
