Narrative:

On apr/xx/97, I was assigned to aircraft xyz nose steering vibration. Upon inspecting upper torque link on gear, it was determined to have excessive play. I then ordered the replacement part and associated hardware. This particular task has been previously performed by myself. No special inspection procedure required. In my oversight, it was noted that the nosegear secondary proximity switch target was not xferred to the new torque link. This was discovered by a flight crew member during preflight inspected 16 days later.

Title: A B737-400 WAS OPERATED WITH THE NOSE GEAR TORQUE LINK GND SENSOR TARGET MISSING AFTER TORQUE LINK REPLACEMENT.

Narrative: ON APR/XX/97, I WAS ASSIGNED TO ACFT XYZ NOSE STEERING VIBRATION. UPON INSPECTING UPPER TORQUE LINK ON GEAR, IT WAS DETERMINED TO HAVE EXCESSIVE PLAY. I THEN ORDERED THE REPLACEMENT PART AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE. THIS PARTICULAR TASK HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED BY MYSELF. NO SPECIAL INSPECTION PROC REQUIRED. IN MY OVERSIGHT, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE NOSEGEAR SECONDARY PROX SWITCH TARGET WAS NOT XFERRED TO THE NEW TORQUE LINK. THIS WAS DISCOVERED BY A FLC MEMBER DURING PREFLT INSPECTED 16 DAYS LATER.
