Narrative:

On takeoff from yhz, unable to raise landing gear handle. Burned fuel off to reduce landing weight and returned to yhz for ILS approach to runway 24. Nose gear strut svced by local and company maintenance personnel (air-ground switch is on nose gear strut on DC9's). Second takeoff with same results. Same return to yhz. Aircraft towed to hangar for further work.

Title: AN ACR DC9 FLC WAS UNABLE TO RAISE THE LNDG GEAR HANDLE AFTER TKOF SO THEY RETURNED TO THE ARPT AFTER BURNING DOWN TO LNDG WT. AFTER REPAIRS, THEY REPEAT THE SAME PROCESS AFTER WHICH THE FLT IS CANCELED.
