Narrative:

Front nose gear failed to extend due to broken actuator assembly rod. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states the aircraft was a C310 and this happens all the time to these aircraft. The tolerances are just too close and the assembly rod rubs and the doors wont' close properly. The nose gear then gets hung up on the doors. Reporter is a member of the C310 owners club and they are notorious for this problem. His mechanics sent the FAA form regarding manufacturer defect to cessna. They had to belly in the aircraft with extensive damage. Since this aircraft has not been manufactured for many yrs he does not see cessna creating a fix for the problem. His best fix is to not buy another C310.
