Narrative:

At the end of a VFR flight from pns to lnk, I was cleared for a right downwind for runway 35R and was subsequently cleared to land on runway 35R. Being new to the lincoln area and never having landed on runway 35R before, I saw what appeared to be 2 runways ahead and landed on the right which was actually a parallel taxiway. It wasn't until notified by tower that I realized the error. Prime cause of my error was lack of attention. Seeing 2 strips and assuming they were the 2 runways. Having been in the area for 2 months, I have studied the runway charts and knew the runway layout but still made the error. The noneventful, easy VFR flight apparently lulled me into excessive complacency. No excuse!

Title: SMA PLT ATTEMPTING A LNDG ON A PARALLEL RWY, LANDS INSTEAD ON TXWY.

Narrative: AT THE END OF A VFR FLT FROM PNS TO LNK, I WAS CLRED FOR A R DOWNWIND FOR RWY 35R AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 35R. BEING NEW TO THE LINCOLN AREA AND NEVER HAVING LANDED ON RWY 35R BEFORE, I SAW WHAT APPEARED TO BE 2 RWYS AHEAD AND LANDED ON THE R WHICH WAS ACTUALLY A PARALLEL TXWY. IT WASN'T UNTIL NOTIFIED BY TWR THAT I REALIZED THE ERROR. PRIME CAUSE OF MY ERROR WAS LACK OF ATTN. SEEING 2 STRIPS AND ASSUMING THEY WERE THE 2 RWYS. HAVING BEEN IN THE AREA FOR 2 MONTHS, I HAVE STUDIED THE RWY CHARTS AND KNEW THE RWY LAYOUT BUT STILL MADE THE ERROR. THE NONEVENTFUL, EASY VFR FLT APPARENTLY LULLED ME INTO EXCESSIVE COMPLACENCY. NO EXCUSE!
