Narrative:

After landing at las on runway 25L, we were told to hold short of runway 25R which we acknowledged and did. Tower cleared an air carrier aircraft to depart, and it did. We were then cleared to cross runway 25R and contact ground on 121.1 when clear. Tower then cleared an air carrier Y into position and hold. When we were just past the centerline of runway 25R we heard the tower instruct an air carrier Y to abort the takeoff. As we turned onto the taxiway we could see the aborted takeoff aircraft clearing the runway about 1/4 mi east of us. Supplemental information from acn 364773: as we taxied across runway, we heard a broken transmission to an air carrier Y to cancel takeoff clearance. As we made our r-hand turn onto the taxiway, we saw the jet aborting a takeoff on runway 25R. Ground control 121.1 was weak and noisy where we were, but we heard air carrier Y ask for a place to park to perform brake cooling calculations. Assuming a near mishap had occurred, we asked ground control what happened and he told us to call the tower when we got in to operations. On phone, tower chief explained they probably caused conflict by mistakenly clearing air carrier Y to takeoff after tower had cleared us to cross runway 25R. He said we were called and told to hold short, but we never heard such xmissions, and remained on tower frequency until well clear of runway 25R. In fact, that was the frequency we heard him cancel air carrier Y's takeoff clearance. Again, reception very poor in that area.

Title: OPERROR OCCURRED WHEN THE LCL CTLR CLRED ACR Y FOR TKOF ON RWY 25R AFTER CLRING ACR X, AN MD80, TO CROSS THE SAME RWY. THE LCL CTLR ABORTED THE TKOF OF ACR Y AS THE MD80 WAS PAST THE RWY CTRLINE. RPTR STATED THAT RADIO RECEPTION POOR IN THAT AREA.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG AT LAS ON RWY 25L, WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25R WHICH WE ACKNOWLEDGED AND DID. TWR CLRED AN ACR ACFT TO DEPART, AND IT DID. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 25R AND CONTACT GND ON 121.1 WHEN CLR. TWR THEN CLRED AN ACR Y INTO POS AND HOLD. WHEN WE WERE JUST PAST THE CTRLINE OF RWY 25R WE HEARD THE TWR INSTRUCT AN ACR Y TO ABORT THE TKOF. AS WE TURNED ONTO THE TXWY WE COULD SEE THE ABORTED TKOF ACFT CLRING THE RWY ABOUT 1/4 MI E OF US. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 364773: AS WE TAXIED ACROSS RWY, WE HEARD A BROKEN XMISSION TO AN ACR Y TO CANCEL TKOF CLRNC. AS WE MADE OUR R-HAND TURN ONTO THE TXWY, WE SAW THE JET ABORTING A TKOF ON RWY 25R. GND CTL 121.1 WAS WEAK AND NOISY WHERE WE WERE, BUT WE HEARD ACR Y ASK FOR A PLACE TO PARK TO PERFORM BRAKE COOLING CALCULATIONS. ASSUMING A NEAR MISHAP HAD OCCURRED, WE ASKED GND CTL WHAT HAPPENED AND HE TOLD US TO CALL THE TWR WHEN WE GOT IN TO OPS. ON PHONE, TWR CHIEF EXPLAINED THEY PROBABLY CAUSED CONFLICT BY MISTAKENLY CLRING ACR Y TO TKOF AFTER TWR HAD CLRED US TO CROSS RWY 25R. HE SAID WE WERE CALLED AND TOLD TO HOLD SHORT, BUT WE NEVER HEARD SUCH XMISSIONS, AND REMAINED ON TWR FREQ UNTIL WELL CLR OF RWY 25R. IN FACT, THAT WAS THE FREQ WE HEARD HIM CANCEL ACR Y'S TKOF CLRNC. AGAIN, RECEPTION VERY POOR IN THAT AREA.
