Narrative:

Our aircraft was taxiing on taxiway right to runway 32. We were holding short of taxiway left for a light twin. The controller said he didn't know how long the twin would be there and for us to continue on taxiway right to runway 6L to runway 32 full length. We did as was instructed but when we were about 1/2 way on runway 32 the controller told us to hold short, a little late. A single engine airplane landed upfield from the numbers and no conflict occurred. Our crew was confused by the controller who told us to taxi to runway 32 full length without additional instructions to hold short or position and hold.
