Narrative:

On departure we followed a B727 and was told to keep him in sight as he hadn't rotated yet when we were cleared. After him, but before us on runway 35R, an ATR was cleared, wind 080 degrees at 10 KTS, which drifted him over to our departure end runway 35L. We rotated up underneath of him and had to make a left turn to adjust losing sight of the B727 and departing from standard departure procedures. Close.
