Narrative:

Cleared to visual approach runway 25L, las. Very busy, a lot of traffic in pattern to look for. Perceived landing clearance, landed on runway 25L, held short of runway 25R. Confusion came when there was a long period of silence. I asked my first officer if we were on the correct frequency. First officer noticed we were on the wrong frequency and switched to tower. Tower said they had been trying to contact us, then informed us to cross runway 25R and contact ground control on the other side. After we taxied in, I asked the first officer if we did have clearance to land. I, the captain, believed we did, and so did the first officer. ATC said nothing further to us concerning the incident. Factors affecting the interpretation of clearance to land: long 4-DAY trip, tired captain and first officer, busy approach control, new first officer.
