Narrative:

Landed runway 36R at hsv. Tower controller instructed us to make the next left turn and taxi to the ramp. We repeated back the taxi clearance. As we taxied into the ramp, the tower controller asked if we were monitoring. We acknowledged. Tower told us we should have been on the ground frequency. We told him what we thought was said previously when clearing the runway. There was no other aircraft operating on the airport. No conflict with any other aircraft or ground equipment. Next time, both parties will have to listen up more.
