Narrative:

Location: yocky intersection of J6 at FL350. During xfeed operation to maintain fuel balance, the #3 engine fuel shutoff switch was inadvertently moved to the cutoff position resulting in the shutdown of #3 engine. Descent was initiated after coordinating with ATC. While running the engine failure checklist, the fuel shutoff switch was found in the closed position. In-flight restart checklist was then accomplished. Engine #3 was shut down approximately 1 min. Descent was stopped at FL310. Remainder of flight continued safely with no further incident.

Title: B727 PHL-DFW MAINTAINING FL350 WAS XFEEDING FUEL TO MAINTAIN BAL WHEN #3 ENG FUEL SHUTOFF MOVED TO THE OFF POS. DSCNT WAS COORDINATED WITH ARTCC AND AT FL310 DISCOVERED THE ERROR. ENG RESTARTED AND FLT CONTINUED AT FL310.

ENG #3 WAS SHUT DOWN APPROX 1 MIN. DSCNT WAS STOPPED AT FL310. REMAINDER OF FLT CONTINUED SAFELY WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
