Narrative:

#2 engine no start on left ignition, the restart on right ignition ok. Called air carrier maintenance operations and given deferral and signature. Took off from ogg and ACARS requested we return to ogg. After discussion with copilot and maintenance in hnl, decided to burn fuel and land in hnl. Landed hnl under maximum weight. Repair completed and redispatched hnl-sfo, no further action. Suggest copy be sent to crew over ACARS to prevent wrong deferral, so crew can view same paperwork as maintenance office, that way everyone is on same extended operations page.
