Narrative:

Failure to inspect southwind heater at 250 hours. Went 6.5 hours over. About an 1.5 hour was time flying for inspection. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: aircraft was a C310R used in air taxi service. Cabin heater has a 250 hour period for inspection. This is 250 hours of actual heater operation. It went overtime by 6.5 hours. Heater was inspected and found ok for service. The reporter was not contacted by the FAA.
